FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – THANK YOU

RACE OF CHAMPIONS DART DIRT MODIFIED TOUR AT FIVE MILE POINT THIS WEDNESDAY JULY 8TH

Binghamton, NY … This Wednesday July 8th at the Five Mile Point Speedway will see race four of the Race of Champions Dart Dirt Modified Tour in action with the 59th Anniversary Special at the historic quarter mile oval.  Brian Weaver is the defending race winner.

Once again the RoC Dart Dirt Modified Tour has been exciting to watch this season as there have been no repeat winners this year. Pat Ward, Danny Johnson, and Gary Tomkins have won the first three races this year.

With the wide racing surface at Five Mile Point you can expect an exciting 75 lap feature.  Last year Brian Weaver led all 75 laps to the very popular win but the show was Brett Hearn who came from 24th to finish fourth.  These two drivers along with a host of other top driving talent will converge on the historic quarter mile oval to do battle. The weekly Five Mile Point Modified racers are one tough bunch to beat on their home turf and they will make the show very interesting.

The current top 15 in RoC Dart Dirt Modified points sees current and two time defending champion Pat Ward leading the points with 116. Brett Hearn is second with 101, Stewart Friesen is third with 96, Matt Sheppard is fourth with 86, and Michael Storms is fifth with 84. Danny Johnson is tied with Billy Decker for sixth with 75, Larry Wight is eighth with 67 and Gary Tomkins and Tim Fuller are tied for tenth with 60. Duane Howard, Jeff Strunk and Craig Von Dohren are tied for eleventh with 55, Ryan Godown is 14th with 54 and Bobby Trapper and Brian Weaver are tied for 15th with 51.

This Wednesday July 8th all gates open at five in the evening with hot laps beginning at 6:30 and the first heat gets the green at 7:30. Joining the RoC Modifieds on this night will be a 40 lap RoC Dart Dirt Sportsman Tour event and round two of the Colossal Cat Challenge.
