NATIONAL QUARTER MILE DIRT TRACK CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND – WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW AND OFTEN ASKED QUESTIONS ANSWERED…
Official Hotel - We have a national corporate rate for the National

Race of Champions Series at The Red Roof Inn Binghamton, located on 590 Fairview Street in Johnson City,
N.Y., 13790. You

Parking - Parking is free on the speedway grounds. Parking attendants are in the main parking lot area and we ask that you please follow their directions and park as closely as possible. Overflow parking is off of turns 3 and 4 and will be utilized on Saturday. Parking is prohibited on Town of Kirkwood streets.
Camping – Camping is free. There are no hookups available. All overnight camping must take place on the backstretch area. There will be a post race bonfire at the conclusion of racing on Friday evening. Any personal fires must be in a contained fire ring.
Tailgating – Tailgating is permitted, no glass bottles are permitted anywhere outside on the speedway grounds. Spectators can re-enter the grandstand area as often as needed providing a proper hand stamp and ticket stub are presented upon re-entry.
Coolers – The maximum cooler size permitted in the grandstand area is a six pack cooler size. No glass bottles are permitted. The speedway has full concessions but does not sell beer. Schneider’s Market on Crescent Drive (just down the hill from the speedway) is open throughout the weekend.
Concessions – There are a variety of great food items at the speedway. The Five Mile Point Speedway grandstand concession areas only accept $1 bills. There is a dollar bill exchange on the backside of the main ticket office. The cheese steak sandwich at the main concession stand is one of the most popular food items on the menu.
Children – 12 years old and younger are admitted in to the grandstand area free of charge both days. Any youngsters entering the pit area must have parental signature(s) of waiver and release. Although this year’s event is a few days past Halloween, youngsters are welcome to dress in costume again. There will be “Trick or Treating” with the Modified drivers prior to the start of the 44th Southern Tier 100 on Saturday.
Pit Entry and Race Hauler Move In – We do allow teams to park prior to the pit gates opening in order to keep traffic off of area streets. We will clear the pit area prior to opening the pit gates. We do ask for everyone’s cooperation in this effort. When haulers arrive after gates open we do ask that the side trailer door is open. We will allow the hauler driver to park the rig to keep lines down prior to paying (they must leave their drivers license with the attendant and that will be returned upon signing in to the pit area).
Dumpsters – There are garbage dumpsters located in both the main parking lot and backstretch pit/camping area(s). If you have bagged garbage we encourage you to put it in the dumpster at the conclusion of each evening.
Saturday Divisions – pit gates open at 10 a.m. –
Modified Southern Tier 100 lap feature – pays $5,555 to win - $300 to take the green. EVERY Modified non-qualifier will receive $100 tow money. Bonus laps in the 100 lap feature will be as follows for laps 25 (French’s Auto Parts) and 75: $250 – 1st - $125, 2nd - $75, 3rd - $50. A halfway lap 50 bonus posted by Sharkey’s Fuels is $500 – 1st - $250, 2nd - $150, 3rd - $100. There will be a gamblers program with all money going back to the teams.
Every Modified non-qualifier from the recently held Short Track SuperNationals will have a bonus races to start the day. Two Guaranteed Starter Events will see two drivers automatically locked in to the Southern Tier 100. The two qualifiers along with all the other drivers will then go in to traditional heat races. All lineups are based on a chip draw.
RoC Street Stock 40 lap feature – pays $2,000 to win, $750 for second - $100 to take the green.
Bonus lap money includes – lap 10 Trackside Products Sponsored - $150 (1st - $75, 2nd - $50, 3rd - $25) - lap 20 Penn Can Speedway sponsored - $150 (1st - $75, 2nd - $50, 3rd - $25) – lap 30 - $150 (1st - $75, 2nd - $50, 3rd - $25). There will be a gamblers program with all money collected going back to the teams.
IMCA Modified 25 lap feature – pays $600 to win, $100 to take the green. All rules per IMCA rule book.
Excel 600 c.c. Modifieds 20 lap feature – per Excel 600 c.c. Modified rules.
Four Cylinders – Front wheel drive only event - $150 to win - $50 bonus to the first “non feature winner” across the line…
