Billy Decker – Started his
racing career at Five Mile Point Speedway in the last Modified car that Pete Cordes’ drove.
Has won 2 Southern Tier 100 events along with 1 Race
of Champions Dirt Tour mid-summer event.
Has compiled double digit top five finishes, most of
those in major Modified events at the speedway.
*Gary
Dence – One of the few
drivers to have earned Track Championships in two divisions at the speedway (4
Cylinder Modifieds and IMCA Modifieds). A former Heath Memorial race winner and a served as the track tech
inspector for a number of seasons.
*Stewart
Friesen – The youngest
member of the group. Has won two of the last three Southern Tier 100 events
(2007, 2009), has 1 Race of Champions Dirt Modified Tour mid-summer win and has
compiled double digit feature wins in a short period of time. Currently has 7 Modifieds wins in 2010
including a two time Heath Memorial race winner.
*Mitch
Gibbs – A two time
Southern Tier 100 winner. One of only three drivers to win both the Southern Tier 100 and
Southern Tier Open events. A two time Track Champion and is tied for the
single season Modified win record with Chuck Akulis
at 13.
*Charlie
Gilbert – A multi time Pure
Stock and Street Stock Track Champion over the past 20 plus seasons. The most dominant driver in
the division of that period of time.
Also a five time Heath Memorial race winner.
*Red
Harrington – An original
member of the Southern Tier Stock Car Club.
A multi time Modified winner in one of the most competitive era’s
of racing. A Heath
Memorial race winner in 1967.
*Gordie Isham – One of the local favorites over multiple decades of
racing. Has driven in
more classes than anyone in the 60 year history of the speedway including
Modifieds, Sprints, Dwarfs, Late Models, Street Stocks and Pure Stocks.
*Danny
Johnson – A former SDS
winner at the speedway along with two victories in the Mid Summer Anniversary
Special (one as a RoC event in 2009. A
two time Southern Tier 100 winner and swept the weekend in 1996 by winning the
T3 358 race on Friday night and the Southern Tier 100 on Saturday.
*Gary
Roberts – Feature winner in
Sportsman, Modifieds, Street Stocks and IMCA Modified division. A two time IMCA Modified
Track Champion and an Empire State Series Race winner.
*Brian Weaver
– A three time Modified Track
Champion at the speedway. Has won the mid-summer Race of Champions Dirt
Modified Tour event and has dozens of Modified feature victories over a career
of several decades. One of the FMP weekly
drivers that has won races at Albany Saratoga,
