Kirkwood, NYÖAn excellent field of cars and a great crowd were on hand to witness a full night of racing on Donís Automotive Mall Pack the Track Night at Five Mile Point Speedway on Saturday. Anthony Perrego left the huge crowd in awe as he picked up his third win on Donís Automotive Mall Pack the Track Night after a late race pass on defending Track Champion Mike Colsten.

In sportsman racing Candor,NY driver Brian White picked up his third consecutive win and added to his points lead. Randy Fox picked up his first career win in the street stocks as he was able to hold off last weeks feature winner Ryan Codington. Scott Bennett picked up win number two on the season as he made a last lap pass to beat Jake Maynard. Adam Gilbert picked up the Lightning Cat Expert win as Dave Rauschmeier was victorious in Lightning Cat Novice racing. Will Eastman was victorious in the 600 cc modifieds, while Mark Andrus won the Figure 8ís, and Kevin Skelly won the factory stocks.

Jeff Crambo and Pj Goodwin brought the 24 car strong Modified field to the green flag where Crambo grabbed the early race lead. Crambo led the opening 3 circuits until Corning, New York driver Tyler Siri took over the lead on the fourth lap. Once out front Siri looked to be the car to beat as he was hooked up on the outside of the track. The lead for Siri came to an end on a lap 9 restart as he jumped the cushion in turn four, giving the lead to the Donís Automotive Mall 51 car of Mike Colsten. Once out front, the veteran runner Colsten dominated as he drove away from the field. By the midway point of the race Colsten was leading with Siri in second, rookie Nick Petrilak up to third, Anthony Perrego in fourth with Brian Weaver completing the top 5.

As the race continued, Perrego and Petrilak put on a great race for the third spot until Perrego was able to get by for third on lap 20. In the closing 10 laps the leaders, Colsten, Siri, and Perrego began approaching heavy lapped traffic. Perrego wasted no time getting by Siri for second then set his sights on leader Mike Colsten. With slower cars in front, Colsten was forced to pick his moves around the cars. With 5 laps to go, Perrego moved to within striking distance of Colsten and began setting up his move for the lead. Perrego finally made his move in turn 3 on lap 28 as he worked the inside of the speedway to pass Colsten. With one lap to go a caution came out on the speedway seeing Perrego the leader over Colsten, Siri, Petrilak, and Weaver rounding out the top 5. On the ensuing restart, Perrego held off the final challenges of Colsten en route to his third win at the Speedway in 2014. Colsten finished second, Siri third, Petrilak fourth, and Weaver completed the top 5.

In the Sportsman portion of the Donís Automotive Mall Pack the Track Night, Brian White drove to victory for the third consecutive week. Randy Green from Walkill, NY showed the way in the early stages of the race, until White came up to challenge for the lead. The challenged proved to be too much for Green, as White was able to make an outside pass good for the lead. The win for White also made it 4 wins in 3 weeks, as he was also victorious this past Tuesday at Penn Can Speedway for the Race of Champions Sportsman event. Randy Green held on for second, Travis Smith was third, Bryan Batzel fourth, and Brad Weaver completed the top 5.

In the Street Stocks, young driver, Randy Fox notched his first career win. Fox ran away from the field in the opening 10 laps in dominating fashion before a mid race caution bunched the field back up. As the race progressed, last weeks feature winner Ryan Codington began challenging for the lead. Fox was able to hold off the pressure as he picked up the win with Codington finishing second, Matt Roberts third, Josh Butler fourth, and Matt Spencer completed the top 5.

Scott Bennet was victorious in the IMCA Modified feature as he picked up his second win of the season after a great battle with Jake Maynard. Maynard was leading on the final circuit until a turn three pass found Bennett the new leader. Maynard held on for second, Jared Spalding finished third, Tanner Harpell fourth, and Gary Roberts completed the top 5.
