owner (Don’s Automotive Mall) Don Beagell, Jr. is the all time leader win
Southern Tier 100 wins with five.
His brother Roger also won the event in 1969. The race was not
run between the years of 1983-1988.
The 1995 and 1996 versions of this event were the only 200 lap
events ever held at Five Mile Point Speedway.

entering this Saturday’s Southern Tier 100 This year’s race will take on added importance as it
will determine the first Race of Champions Dirt Modified Tour overall
Champion. Current series point
leader Bobby Varin has never won at Five Mile Point Speedway. Mitch Gibbs is currently second in
series points and shares the Five Mile Point Speedway single season victory
record with Chuck Akulis. Gibbs is
the defending Southern Tier 100 winner.
In three starts at Five Mile Point Speedway this season Gibbs won
twice and finished second once.
Brian Weaver earned his first ever Five Mile Point Speedway Track
Championship this year and won the Race of Champions Dirt 75 at Five Mile
Point back on July 13th.
Weaver will be looking for his first ever Southern Tier 100 win. Both Jack Johnson and Mike Colsten will be looking to
earn their 3rd Southern Tier 100 victories. Ronnie Johnson (son of Jack Johnson) is
currently 5th in Race of Champions overall Dirt points and will
be making his first Five Mile Point Speedway start. Five Mile Point regular
Jim Crawn and Danny Johnson will both be gunning for their second Southern
Tier 100 wins. Johnson finished
second behind Gibbs in his only 2005 FMP start.
