57TH CONSECUTIVE YEAR OF RACING AT FIVE MILE POINT TO BE FUN FILLED WITHIN THE REACH OF EVERY BUDGET.

KIRKWOOD, NY - The 57th consecutive year of racing at Five Mile Point Speedway is quickly approaching and similar to past years the schedule is being set up to satisfy every type of budget. Whether for the budget racer or large family there will be something for everyone in 2007 at the historic quarter mile oval.

The weekly racing program at Five Mile Point Speedway is certainly designed with families in mind. Each Saturday kids 12 years old and younger are admitted into the grandstand absolutely free of charge. Last season the speedway introduced the family five pack value package. For only $30 a family including two adults and three youth or seniors will be admitted into the races. In addition five hot dogs and five sodas are included in the package.

Once again the speedway will host the annual “Pack the Track” night at Five Mile Point Speedway. Speedway owner Andrew Harpell introduced this promotion at Tioga Speedway back in 1997 and was one of the first speedways in the United States to do it. The event this year is scheduled for Saturday, May 19th. Since the inception of “Pack the Track” night many speedways have tried to imitate the promotion with half off or $5 night events. May 19th will be the original “Pack the Track” Night and grandstand admission will only be $1.

For the budget racer the speedway has several viable options in place so that just about anyone can enjoy the thrill of racing. The fan favorite Figure 8 division is expected to have at least nine races in 2007. The Figure 8 drivers have a unique program in place that provides each team with two free pit passes at each event. If a team paints their car like a Nextel Cup team they earn the free pit passes.

If you’re a racer that has a low budget and rather not race on the “X” the Lightning Cat division could be the answer. At the end of last season the Lightning Cat class was introduced and the response was enormous. The 4 cylinder budget class races a feature at the end of the evening and is fully geared toward the newcomer in racing.

Five Mile Point Speedway doesn’t leave anyone out in the racing program as they also introduced the only women’s racing league in the entire northeast. “The League of Their Own” utilizes the same race cars as in the Lightning Cats division but is designated only for women. A lot of interest has been shown entering the 2007 racing season by new participants. Both the Lightning Cats and A League of Their Own run their events at the end of the racing program.

The 57th consecutive year of racing at Five Mile Point Speedway is just around the corner and both race teams and spectators will have a number of options to take advantage of budget friendly events.
