DOUG’S SPEED SHOP TO GIVEAWAY A 2005 TROYER CHASSIS TO A FIVE MILE POINT SPEEDWAY SPORTSMAN DRIVER THIS SEASON.

KIRKWOOD, NY…Five Mile Point Speedway and Bob Gentile from Doug’s Speed Shop are once again working together to present a 2005 Troyer chassis to a Sportsman team this season. The 2005 top ten Sportsman drivers in the final point standings will be eligible for the brand new chassis at the end of the season. Five Mile Point Speedway will begin its 55th consecutive year of racing on Saturday, April 9th.

Bob Gentile, from Doug’s Speed Shop has always been a strong supporter at Five Mile Point Speedway. His efforts will once again be evident as he is supplying the brand new 2005 Troyer chassis for Five Mile Point Speedway. The SLR – Troyer chassis will be up for grabs among the top ten drivers in the final Sportsman point standings. The drawing will take place on the Saturday, September 3rd Season Championship event.

The Troyer chassis will be on display at Doug’s Speed Shop on Court Street in Binghamton. It will also be periodically displayed at Five Mile Point Speedway as well so that fans and drivers both can see first hand what will be given away. Last year New Jersey driver Ricky Rutt was the winner of the brand new chassis and is gearing up to challenge Rodney Hart for the division title this season with that car.

Five Mile Point Speedway track operator Andrew Harpell stated, “Bob Gentile (from Doug’s Speed Shop) is one of so many strong supporters that we have at the speedway. He certainly understands our objective of providing drivers with incentives and bonus opportunities at Five Mile Point Speedway.” He added, “His efforts over the years have certainly made Five Mile Point Speedway a better place for everyone involved.”

In addition to the Troyer chassis giveaway, Doug’s Speed Shop, Sunoco Race Fuels and MNR Race Fuels have teamed up to give random weekly fuel giveaways at the speedway. The Sportsman teams will also be eligible for weekly pit pass giveaways as well. American Racer tires will be the official tire in the Sportsman division in 2005. Teams will be running the same compounds as the Modifieds.

The 55th season of racing at Five Mile Point Speedway goes green on Saturday, April 9th with Part I of the Southern Tier Open. The Patriot Sprints, Sportsman and Pure Stocks will all be in action on that day.
