KIRKWOOD, NY…Five Mile Point Speedway has teamed up with KGB FM and the other area Clear Channel Radio stations to help assist Southern Tier Flood Victims. Five Mile Point Speedway will donate $3 from each adult general admission ticket sold this Saturday night at the speedway. Race time is 5 p.m.
The 55th season opener will start the season off in fine fashion with one of the biggest races of the year. The Patriot Sprint Cars will be featured on Saturday along with racing action in the Sportsman and Pure Stock classes. Race time is 5 p.m.
Five Mile Point Speedway track owner Andrew Harpell commented, “We are proud to have the opportunity to work with KGB FM and Clear Channel radio to help the area flood victims.” He added, “With our 55 years of racing we certainly understand how important our fellow community members are and are willing to help when called upon.”
Three dollars from every single day adult grandstand general admission ticket sold this Saturday night will be donated to Broome County Catholic Charities. They are currently working with Clear Channel Radio on other area projects as well.
Five Mile Point Speedway will also be working to help CHOW food pantries on Friday afternoon. The speedway will hold an open practice session for the race teams from 3 to 7 p.m. Grandstand admission will be free of charge with the donation of a canned good to benefit CHOW.
All of the racing excitement goes full speed this weekend at Five Mile Point Speedway. The Southern Tier Open will span over Saturday and Sunday at the historic quarter mile oval. Saturday racing will feature the Patriot Sprint cars along with Sportsman and Pure Stocks. Race time Saturday is 5 p.m.
On Sunday the lightning fast Modifieds will do battle in a 50 lap special. Full programs will also be held for the Street Stocks, 4 Cylinder Stocks and IMCA type Modifieds. Race time on Sunday is 2 p.m.
