Five Mile Point Speedway Drivers To See More Driver Increased Loyalty Incentives in 2011.

First “Driver Appreciation Night” Set For Saturday, June 18th.

KIRKWOOD, NYThe staff at Five Mile Point Speedway is excited to announce the addition of two more driver incentive programs at the speedway this season.  The programs will go in to effect immediately and will include the first ever French’s Auto Parts “Driver Appreciation Night” on Saturday, June 18th where drivers will be admitted in to the pit area free of charge.

The free admission driver program being sponsored by the speedway tire vendor French’s Auto Parts will take place on Saturday, June 18th.  The only requirement to obtain the free admission for the driver is to have competed in two race events prior to that night.  This is the speedway’s way of rewarding the teams that support the facility on a weekly basis.  All drivers that have competed in at least two events prior to June 18th will be on a list at the pit booth and will be given free pit admission upon signing in on that evening.  French’s Auto Parts the official tire vendor at the speedway can be reached directly at 607-774-4500.

Another new program will focus on the Lightning Cat Expert division.  Effective immediately the payout in the division will be for up to all 30 starting positions on a weekly basis.  This means that every driver that qualifies for the Expert division feature event will be paid at all events this season.  The Lightning Cat Novice division deemed as a learner class will remain the same as years past with trophies being awarded.

These new incentives include the ongoing program that will see a randomly selected driver receive 5 free pit passes to each of the 2011 racing programs.  Teams must display their Five Mile Point Speedway decal (provided free at the pit registration office) on their cars to be eligible.  Each Saturday a new winner will be drawn and that recipient of the 5 free pit passes is asked to display their car an hour prior to practice behind the grandstand area.  This is a great opportunity for fans to see a team’s car up close while getting to meet the driver.  This program has worked tremendously for a number of years and will continue again in 2011.

On the spectator side of the fence the speedway announced this winter that all kids 17 years old and younger will be admitted free in to the grandstand area weekly in 2011.  The speedway teamed up with local radio group Citadel Radio for the ongoing promotion.  The original Don’s Automotive Mall “Pack the Track” night is scheduled for Saturday, May 28th with grandstand admission being only $2 on that night.  A full program including the Modifieds will be on the card that night.

The original Five Mile Point Speedway Family Five Pack will also be in effect throughout the season which will include 2 adult, 3 senior or child tickets along with 5 hot dog’s and 5 soda’s for only $30.  That price does increase slightly for special events.

Five Mile Point Speedway owner Andrew Harpell commented, “I still have copies of advertisements from the 60’s and 70’s with Five Mile Point Speedway described as the Family Track and we just want to continue that effort to give families a great night of value priced entertainment.”  “The speedway has operated for 61 consecutive years and we have always tried to make our race events as value friendly as possible.”  He added, “We understand first hand the impact the economy has had on everyone and we realize those increased costs just trying to operate this business.  With that in mind we still want to provide a night out for area residents and possibly an opportunity to forget about some of those struggles.”

Five Mile Point Speedway will be racing this Saturday night with the heldover running of the Southern Tier Open for Modifieds.  This will mark the 18th edition of this event.  The Sportsman, Street Stocks, IMCA Modifieds and Lightning Cats will all be in competition.  Race time is 6 p.m.
