KIRKWOOD, NY…For die hard and casual race fans one of the most anticipated events of the season is set to take place this Saturday night at Five Mile Point Speedway. This Saturday night is the annual “Pack the Track Night” at the speedway with grandstand admission only $1. Race time is 6 p.m.
Advance sale tickets have gone very quickly as a sell out crowd is anticipated for this second annual event. Not only are grandstand tickets only $1 but as always kids ten years old and younger will be admitted free of charge.
The scheduled race program for “Pack the Track Night” is anything but watered down. The Sportsman teams will gun it out in a 50 lap feature event. The Street Stocks, Pure Stocks and FMP Modifieds will be joined by the first Figure 8 event of the season as well. Several Modified teams will be on hand to shake their cars down in anticipation of the Twin 30 lap features scheduled for Saturday, May 28th.
Giant Markets are a proud contributor of “Pack the Track Night” at Five Mile Point Speedway. They will also be sponsoring a “Two for One Night” on Saturday, July 2nd at Five Mile Point Speedway. Giant Markets have super markets throughout the Southern Tier area.
The action on the speedway should once again be thrilling as the racing thus far in 2005 has been fantastic. The Sportsman division has three different winners in three races this season as the competition level is very high. Teams will have to put together a solid pre-race plan for this extra distance 50 lap special.
Figure 8 action is always a fan favorite at Five Mile Point Speedway. This Saturday will be the first event of the season for the Figure 8 thrill drivers. Figure 8 racing won’t be left to just passenger cars this season as two Figure 8 bus races have also been scheduled for later this season.
No food or beverages will be permitted into the grandstand area this Saturday night. Grandstand gates will open at 4 p.m. with racing set for 6 p.m. For additional information please phone the speedway offices at (607) 775-5555 or log on to www.fivemilepointspeedway.net for more.
