Five Mile Point Speedway Readies For CRSA Sprint Cars and Crate Sportsman Open
This Sunday at 4:30 p.m.
Joining the CRSA Sprint Cars will be the stars of the northeast’s Crate Sportsman divisions. The Crate Sportsman will run in a $1,000 to win show. The Race of Champions Street Stock Tour will also be in action running for $1,000 to win. The 600 c.c. Modifieds and Lightning Cats.
The ultra wide quarter mile is
the perfect layout for the CRSA Sprint Car Teams. They always put on a tremendous show at
Five Mile Point Speedway. This
Sunday will be the fourth of twenty-five scheduled events for the touring group
in 2011. The race will also serve as
a Racesaver Nationals Qualifier. Several of the top drivers from the
Tri-State RaceSaver Series based in
Brenton Miller currently leads the Race of Champions Street Stock Series as it will make its second stop of the 2011 season. Miller won the opening day event at Five Mile Point Speedway back on April 10th. Bob Buono, Rich Talada, Jason Butler and Dave Pope are your current top five in the point standings. Twenty-five track show up points will be awarded on Sunday.
The 600 c.c. Modified Tour group
will make their second start of the season at Five Mile Point Speedway as
well. This will be their second of
seven events slated at the speedway in 2011. Their last event on May 7th
was washed out. The popular group

Last year the Crate Sportsman made their debut at Five Mile Point Speedway as part of the National Quarter Mile Dirt Track Championship Weekend. The team’s put on a great show last year and many were hoping for the opportunity of more events at the speedway in 2011. This will be the first of two events for the Crate Sportsman teams. This race will serve as a qualifier for the National Quarter Mile Dirt Track Championship Weekend race in October. The race winner will earn $1,000.
Rounding out the card will be a Lightning Cat Open for the Four Cylinder teams. Several invaders will be on hand looking to derail the recent win streak held by Andy Brigham. Twenty-five show up points will be awarded.
Five Mile Point Speedway will host an open paid practice on Saturday beginning at 5 p.m. Grandstand admission is free with the donation of a canned food item to benefit CHOW. On Sunday racing will get underway at 4:30 p.m.
