STREET STOCKS ADDED TO WEEKLY COMPETITION AT FIVE MILE POINT SPEEDWAY THROUGH JULY 3RD.

KIRKWOOD, NY…Due to popular demand and a strong field of the competitors during their inaugural appearance of the season, the Street Stock division has been added to weekly competition at Five Mile Point Speedway. The class will be run weekly through July 3rd at that time an evaluation will be made on the number of remaining Street Stock events for the season. The next race for the class is this Saturday, May 29th.

The first event for the Street Stock competitor’s was held this past Saturday night at Five Mile Point Speedway. As is often the case action can speak louder than words and the Street Stock drivers proved that as they put on a fantastic display of racing in front of the capacity crowd. Sixteen year old driver Chris Strohl recorded the win this past Saturday night in his first ever appearance at the quarter mile.

Any teams attempting to qualify in the class this Saturday will be lined up for starting position by random drawing. Handicapped starting lineups will begin on Saturday, June 5th. Teams may run the McCreary compounds but will only be eligible for season ending driver point fund monies if they use the track Hoosier Tire compound. Teams that want to compete for the track point fund have until Saturday, June 12th to switch to the Hoosier Racing Tire.

For additional information please contact the Five Mile Point Speedway track offices at (607) 775-5555 or log on to www.fivemilepointspeedway.net for more. Make it a point to get to the Point for the return of the Street Stocks this Saturday, May 29th.
