KIRKWOOD, NY -

Five Mile Point Speedway hosts a special night of racing this Tuesday, July 13th. On tap will be a Modified 30 lap open event that will award six guaranteed starting spots among the top six finishers in the Modified feature. Also racing will be the Sportsman, Pure Stocks and IMCA Modifieds. Race time is 7 p.m.

The Modified 30 lap open will allow teams to run sail panels and any 92 x 13 inch tire. The race was added after the number of recent rainouts that have taken place at Five Mile Point Speedway.

This unique Modified event will award six guaranteed starting berths in upcoming 2006 major events. These guaranteed starting berths include: Each of the upcoming three R.o.C Modified Tour races at Five Mile Point Speedway (the August 9th R.o.C event at Five Mile Point Speedway will see NEXTEL Cup driver Ken Schrader in the field); the T3 358 Modified event being held at Five Mile Point Speedway on October 13th; the Supernationals All Star Cash Dash at Afton Speedway on October 7th and lastly a guaranteed spot in the Victoria 200 All Star Race at Fulton Speedway on September 30th.

Added to the unique nature of this event is the fact that the top six Modified feature finishers will all get one the above mentioned spots. The Modified feature winner will get the first choice of which guaranteed spot they want to take. The second place winner will get the next option and this process will take place among the top six finishers. The extra value of these guaranteed berths is over $1,500. Many outside drivers have indicated they are planning on attending this Tuesday's event.

Also on the card will be the Sportsman Modifieds, Pure Stocks and IMCA Modifieds. The Sportsman teams will be competing in a non-point race, however twenty-five "show up" points will be distributed. The Pure Stock event is an "open" race which means that no points will be awarded and track rules will apply. The IMCA Modified event will be a point race and per sanctioned rules.

Pit gates open at 4:30 p.m., grandstand gates open at 5:00 p.m. and racing gets underway at 7 p.m. this Tuesday night at Five Mile Point Speedway. All Windsor residents will be admitted free of charge as it is Windsor Community Night at the speedway.
