KEN SCHRADER READY TO DO BATTLE AT FIVE MILE POINT SPEEDWAY ON WEDNESDAY. RACE OF CHAMPIONS SOUTH REGIONAL POINT CHAMPIONSHIP UP FOR GRABS ALONG WITH A FULL SHOW OF BRC LATE MODELS.

KIRKWOOD, NY -

From the Brickyard of Indianapolis to the quarter mile of Five Mile Point Speedway – Ken Schrader is set to compete in the Race of Champions South Region 75 lap Modified event on Wednesday. Schrader is coming off of a fourteenth place finish in the NASCAR Nextel Cup Brickyard 400 this past Sunday.

Schrader will be competing at Five Mile Point Speedway this Wednesday in the Race of Champions Modified Tour 75 lap event. This event is the final point race for the South Region of the R.o.C South Regional Tour with the championship to be decided. Schrader will be competing in the car that Stewart Friesen has driven to two consecutive Modified victories at Five Mile Point Speedway.

Currently New Jersey Modified standout Jimmy Horton leads the way in the R.o.C Southern Tour standings. Last year he had a commanding race lead in the R.o.C tour race at Five Mile Point Speedway only to be caught in a tangle with lapped cars. Horton is hoping better luck awaits him as he looks to close in on the series title. Currently Horton holds the edge over Alan Johnson. Johnson is fresh off wins at Five Mile Point Speedway on July 20th (north regional R.o.C event) and at the Big Diamond Raceway on back on July 25th (south regional R.o.C event). Another New Jersey driver sits in the third place in the standings in Rick Laubach with Brian Weaver and Billy Pauch rounding out the top five.

The Modified 75 lapper will be hotly contested as the best Modified talent in the northeast will assemble at Five Mile Point Speedway this Wednesday night. One of the hottest drivers in racing is Stewart Friesen as he is coming off back to back wins at Five Mile Point Speedway. Friesen will be giving up the car he has won to back to back wins in so that Ken Schrader can drive it. Friesen will be bringing out a brand new car for the R.o.C 75. Current Five Mile Point Speedway point leader Mitch Gibbs will be looking to defend his R.o.C overall title by scoring a win on Wednesday night.

The BRC Late Model tour will be joining the big night of racing at the speedway. The Late Models always put on a great show whenever they converge on the quarter mile. Special “Meet and Greet” V.I.P Hospitality Tickets are available to meet Ken Schrader on Wednesday. For details please phone the Five Mile Point Speedway offices at (607) 775-5555. Race time this Wednesday is 7:30 p.m.
