KIRKWOOD, NY…Five Mile Point Speedway will be thanking the weekly race fans by holding a pre-race tailgate party this Saturday at the speedway. The tailgate party will take place between 2 and 4 p.m. Racing is set to get underway at 6:30 p.m.
The pre-race tailgate party will take place between 2 and 4 p.m. on the backstretch area of the speedway. Free hot dogs and Pepsi-Cola will be available to the fans in attendance. Race fans are encouraged to bring their campers and motor homes for the festivities as a post-race bonfire will also be held on the backstretch.
The backstretch area of the speedway provides race fans with the best up-close seat in dirt track racing. The large number of acres on the backstretch area also provides for an ideal camping location for fans and race teams that make the long haul each Saturday night to the fast clay quarter mile oval.
On the speedway the racing action is expected to be intense as the point championship battles are certainly heating up. Only two regular Saturday night events are scheduled prior to the September 4th Season Championship night at the speedway. All of the point races are extremely close and are expected to come down to the very last night of racing.
This Saturday night a complete program of Big Block/Small Block Modifieds, Sportsman, Street Stocks, UMP Modifieds and Pure Stocks will be in competition. The Slingshot division will make their final return of the season to the quarter mile this Saturday night as well.
All of the excitement this Saturday night will be sponsored by Peoples National Bank. Peoples National Bank has locations throughout Pennsylvania and the southern tier of New York. Race fans have an opportunity to win a pair of free grandstand general admission passes by registering to win at the Conklin, New York branch of Peoples National Bank.
