Time Schedule Set for Fourth Running of
Short Track SuperNationals; Fans Benefit from Split
Program As Oct. 8 "Working Man's Race" Approaches at Five Mile Point
KIRKWOOD, NY - The time
schedule for the fourth edition of the Short Track SuperNationals
has been established.
Once again, for the benefit of race fans, the "Working Man's Race" at
Five Mile Point Speedway will feature a split program with support-division
qualifying in the afternoon, prior to the headlining big-block/small-block
Modifieds hitting the track for their portion of the program. A 50-lap
Modified event headlines the Short Track SuperNationals
with $5,000 reserved for the winner plus lap money, bonuses and contingency
awards. The Race of Champions Street Stocks (25 laps), Four Cylinders (18 laps)
and Figure Eight World Championship complete the card.
For Friday night's (Oct. 7) open practice session, gates open at 5 p.m.
Practice begins at 6 p.m. and runs for three hours.
Five Mile Point pit gates
unlock Saturday (Oct. 8) at 2 p.m. Grandstand gates open at 3 p.m.
Race of Champions Street Stocks and Four Cylinders will have hot laps at 4 p.m.
with their qualifying events to follow at 4:45 p.m. Figure Eight hot laps
will also take place during this period.
On-track activity for
big-block/small-block Modifieds begins at 5:45 p.m. with hot laps. Heat races
for the Modifieds get underway promptly at 6:30 p.m.
Modifieds will not be on the speedway prior
to 5:45 p.m.
"The 'split program'
format has worked well the last two years for us," Short Track SuperNationals promoter Brett Deyo
said. "Fans wishing to see the Modifieds and the support-class features
can arrive later, while those looking to take in the entire show can do so as
well. We've received numerous positive comments from fans who appreciate
having the opportunity to choose."
Already, the early entry
list for the SuperNationals boasts a wide range of
talent, including Jeff Strunk of Bechtelsville, Pa.,
Mike Gular of Green Lane, Pa., Billy Pauch Jr. of Frenchtown, N.J., Wade Hendrickson of
Lawrenceville, N.J., Doug Manmiller of
Shoemakersville, Pa., Paul Jensen of Edmeston, N.Y.,
and others. A complete entry list can be found at www.bdmotorsportsmedia.com.
For just $40, a family of five can attend the SuperNationals
and eat/drink! The Five Mile Point Speedway 'Family Five Pack' offers two Adult
tickets, three Youth (ages 13-17) or Senior (ages 62 and over) tickets plus
five hot dogs and five sodas. Do the math: it's just $8 per person!
Tickets purchased individually are also well below the industry norm for
Modified special events. Adults are $18, Youth and
Seniors are $14 and Kids 12 and under are FREE.
All racing activity will be held on the Saturday portion (Oct. 8) of the
program, eliminating hotel costs for budget-minded race teams. Friday night
(Oct. 7) will be reserved for an open practice session from 6-9 p.m.
Pit admission is $30 for the Saturday event (Oct. 8) while Friday night's (Oct.
7) open practice is $20. Grandstand admission is FREE for Friday practice.
The fourth running of the Short Track SuperNationals
is headlined by a 50-lap big-block/small-block Modified event paying $5,000 to
