Re:  RoC Dirt Tours

ROC DIRT TOUR CHAMPIONSHIPS TO BE DECIDED IN THE MONTH OF OCTOBER.  206 DIFFERENT MODIFIED TEAMS HAVE ALREADY COMPETED ON THE TOUR IN 2011.

BINGHAMTON, NYThe 2011 Race of Champions Dirt Tours have had a tremendous season.  The Modified, Sportsman and Street Stock Tour titles will all be decided in the weeks to come in October.  The first of two remaining Modified tour events took place this past Friday at Accord Speedway with Andy Bachetti recording the victory.  Billy Decker continues to lead the Modified point standings.  Over 200 Modified teams have competed in at least one RoC Modified event this summer.

The Race of Champions Dirt Modified Tour has been nothing short of extraordinary in 2011.  A whopping 206 different Modified teams have participated in at least one of the ten previous events this season.  The final 100 lap RoC tour event will take place at Five Mile Point Speedway on Saturday, October 29th with the running of the 47th edition of the Southern Tier 100.  The combination events award more points than the regular season races and could dramatically affect the current standings.

Currently Billy Decker (590) leads the Modified point standings Danny Johnson (559) and Jeff Strunk in third with (556). Stewart Friesen (551) dropped back to fourth in the standings with a disappointing outing at Accord on Friday and Pat Ward moved up to fifth place (493).

In the first seven RoC Sportsman Tour events 121 different teams have already participated in at least one event.  Two events also remain on the Sportsman tour with the first coming at Penn Can Speedway on Saturday, October 15th and then the tour finale will take place at Five Mile Point Speedway with a 100 lap event.  The 100 lap finale at Five Mile Point Speedway will pay a minimum of $2,555 to win plus it will pay $200 to take the green for the Sportsman teams.  It will also serve as a combination event.

Currently Defending RoC Sportsman Champion Jeff Crambo leads the standings over Sammy Piazza, James Cornell, Brad Szulewski and Clay Butler.

The RoC Street Stock Tour also sees two remaining races for 2011.  The next RoC Street Stock race will be this Saturday, October 8th at Five Mile Point Speedway.  Penn Can Speedway will host the tour on Saturday, October 15th and then the tour will culminate at Five Mile Point Speedway on Friday, October 28th part of the National Quarter Mile Dirt Track Championship weekend.

Bob Buono currently leads opening day winner Brenton Miller, Buck Mills, Dave Pope and Paul Harrington in the standings.
