LAST CHANCE RACES ENTICING FOR NEW TEAMS ENTERING THIS FRIDAYS NATIONAL QUARTER MILE DIRT TRACK CHAMPIONSHIP EVENT AT FIVE MILE POINT SPEEDWAY.

KIRKWOOD, NY…Last chance races will certainly be enticing for the new teams anticipated for this Friday night’s National Quarter Mile Dirt Track Championship event at Five Mile Point Speedway. The Southern Tier 100 for the Big Block/Small Block Modifieds will highlight the action with race time set for 7:00 p.m.

New teams are welcome to attempt to qualify for any of the divisions in competition on Friday night through either the remaining consolation events or last chance races. The Modified field will see eight drivers being added through the consolation events and the final last chance race. This could see as many as 30 drivers gunning it out for the win in the 100 lap event.

The first two rows will be looking to jump out front as some heavy hitters will set the pace in the Modified 100. Capital district star Bob Savoie will be joined with former Five Mile Point Speedway Track Champion Mitch Gibbs on the front row in the Southern Tier 100. Breathing down their neck will be the 2004 FMP Modified Champion Don Hart, Jr. and Penn Can Champion Brian Weaver.

Joining the Modifieds on Friday will be the Sportsman, Street Stocks, 4 Cylinder Stocks and UMP/IMCA Shootout. Teams that were not in attendance on September 25th are welcome to join the qualifying efforts this Friday night in all classes.

Racing gets underway at 7:00 p.m. this Friday night at Five Mile Point Speedway. For additional information please contact the speedway offices at (607) 775-5555 or log on to www.fivemilepointspeedway.net for more.
