October 19th, 2003

Binghamton, NY: All of the preparation has been completed for the Benefit for Binghamton, NY Modified driver Dave Locke. Locke was injured in late July, 2003 at Five Mile Point Speedway when metal fatigue in his driveshaft caused the shaft to break, embedding a portion of the driveshaft into his lower leg. Several operations have been performed, and the medical expenses are mounting.

The racing community is coming together in a big way to aid the driver and his family. The event will be held at the Vestal American Legion, Jensen Road. Vestal, N.Y. The doors will open at 1:00 pm where a home cooked buffet dinner will be served. Several Raffle winners will be drawn during the day including the S&S Chassis being donated by Hart Racing, A Golf Cart valued at $ 1,000 donated by 2003 Five Mile Point Speedway Modified champion, Dan Vauter and Vauter Racing as well as the 50/50 that has been growing for twelve weeks.

An auction will be held at 4:00 pm with items donated from many racing teams and series. Some of the items in the auction include Coke Race Team Bobble Heads, a Tim McCreadie autographed sweater and the autographed drivers uniform worn by “Barefoot” Bob McCreadie this year at Syracuse. Tickets are available at B&D Exhaust Warehouse – 1-9 Jackson Street, Binghamton, NY, Carquest Stores on Old Vestal Road in Vestal and Hall Street in Binghamton, Doug’s Speed Shop on Upper Court Street in Binghamton, Eddie’s Radiator – North Street in Endicott, NY and Trackside Products – Vestal Road in Vestal, NY.

Please come out and support a very worthwhile cause.
