FIVE MILE POINT AWARDS BANQUET SET FOR APRIL 11TH; GIBBS, SPOOR, STODDARD, SHOEMAKER AND GARVEY TO BE HONORED

KIRKWOOD, NY…Five Mile Point Speedway will honor its 2002 Track Champions at its annual awards banquet on Friday, April 11th at Donoli’s in Apalachin, New York. Mitch Gibbs, Brett Spoor, Mike Stoddard, Mahlon Shoemaker and Brian Garvey will all be honored as champions.

The event will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. with awards presentations beginning at 7:30 p.m. The awards will be followed by entertainment provided by the Sounds of Illusion. They will provide music and magic for all of the party goers.

Many special awards will also be handed out as well. Rookie of the Year, Most Improved Driver, the Glenn Knapp, Sr. Owner of the Year, Best Appearing Car, Hard Luck Driver and the Irv Heath Memorial Dedication Award will be presented.

Tickets are $27 apiece and will go on sale on Monday, March 3rd at the Speedway office as well as at Doug’s Speed Shop on Court Street in Binghamton. Tickets are limited to the first 200 requests so be sure to purchase them early. The deadline for tickets will be Tuesday, April 1st.
