KIRKWOOD, NY…Five Mile Point Speedway will play host to Open Wheel Excitement this Saturday, featuring the Patriot and KARS Sprint Cars. They will join the full show of 358 Modifieds, Street Stocks, UMP Modifieds and Pure Stocks beginning at 6:00 p.m.
The Patriot Sprints will be making their maiden voyage to the Point. The newly formed group in 2003 has played host to some spectacular races thus far in 2003. They will go head to head with the KARS Sprint Cars out of Pennsylvania with as many as 40 cars expected to be on hand.
Jeff VanDusen holds the track record at the Point. He set a mark of 13.26 seconds last October. You can expect that mark to be challenged this Saturday night.
The Sprinters will join the full show of 358 Modifieds, Street Stocks, UMP Modifieds and Pure Stocks. The Modifieds have had eight different winners thus far in 2003 and they are currently locked up in one of the tightest point battles in many years.
Gates will open at 4:00 p.m. with hot laps at 4:45 p.m. The first heat will take the green flag at 6:00 p.m. Five Mile Point Speedway is located at the intersection of routes 17 and 81 in Kirkwood, New York, near Binghamton.
