KIRKWOOD, NY...Entry forms are now available for the National Quarter Mile Dirt Track Championship Weekend at Five Mile Point Speedway. The two big days of racing will take place on Friday and Saturday, September 26th and 27th. Friday night will kick off the weekend with Southern Tier Championships for he Sportsman, Street Stocks, UMP/IMCA Modifieds and Four Cylinder Stocks.
Race time is slated for 7:00 p.m.Saturday will cap off the weekend with the 34th running of the Binghamton Pepsi-Cola Southern Tier 100 for 358 Modifieds along with the annual Northeast Pure Stock Championship. Race time on Saturday is 6:00 p.m.
Friday night will find the Sportsman cars as the headline division as they will compete in a 50 lapper, paying $1,000 to win. If you are legal on DIRT, Penn Can, Thunder Mountain or Big Diamond you are legal for this event. However no sail panels or aluminum wheels will be allowed. Tires are the Southern Tier McMod or Big Diamond style American Racers or the DIRT soft Hoosier compound. If you don’t fall into the above categories, please call the speedway office.
The Street Stocks will also be in competition on Friday. They will run 25 laps for $600 to win. If you are legal at Five Mile Point, Afton, Penn Can, Skyline, Moc-A-Tek, Thunder Mountain or DIRT, you are legal for this race. All others call the speedway office.
The UMP/IMCA Modifieds will see action on Friday in a 20 lap feature, paying $500 to win. If you are UMP or IMCA legal you are legal for this event. UMP or IMCA tires are legal.
Rounding out the Friday show will be the Four Cylinder Stocks. Their 20 lap feature will pay $300 to the winner. If you are legal at Afton, Black Rock, Brewerton, Skyline or Thunder Mountain, you are legal for this race. All others call the speedway office.
Saturday is highlighted by the 34th running of the Binghamton Pepsi-Cola Southern Tier 100 for 358 Modifieds. The winner will pocket $2,555 and add his name to an historic list of drivers that have won the race in the past. Last year Mitch Gibbs joined Modified greats Kenny Meahl, DeForest Chalker, Chuck Akulis, Don and Roger Beagell, Dave Kneisel, Gerald Chamberlain, Stan Ploski, Sammy Beavers, Jack Johnson, Kenny Brightibill, Carl Reynolds, Alan Johnson, Jim Mahaney, Mike Colsten, Danny Johnson, Billy Decker, Brett Hearn, Bob McCreadie, Jim Crawn, Dave Rosa, Brian Davis and Kirk Horton as past winners of the prestigiuos race.
DIRT 358 Modified rules apply to the race with the exception of the tires. Southern Tier McMod soft, Big Diamond American Racer soft or DIRT Soft Hoosiers will be allowed. No hard compounds. The weight rule is 2,450 pounds. Sportsman legal cars may run with the 358’s but must run a DIRT legal four barrel carburetor and can weigh 2,400 pounds but must run steel wheels to get the weight break. No sail panels allowed.
The Pure Stocks will be competing in the Northeast Pure Stock Championship. The 50 lapper will pay $500 to win. If you are legal at Five Mile Point, Afton, Fulton, Penn Can, Skyline, Thunder Mountain our Utica Rome you are legal for this show. All others should call the speedway office.

The entry fee for the Sportsman, Street Stocks, UMP/IMCA Modifieds, Four Cylinder Stocks and Pure Stocks are $30 in advance or $35 the day of the show. The 358 Modified entry fee is $35 in advance or $50 the day of the show. The entry includes the drivers admission.
